Overview

FDM is mainly used for low-cost prototyping and design checks with very fast turn-around times. FDM can be used for small-medium batch production.

Materials available

ABS & ASA

Improved mechanical and thermal properties compared to PLA.

ABS has good mechanical properties, with good impact strength and toughness, superior to PLA, but less defined details. Commonly used for enclosure prototypes.

Parts can be polished to give a high gloss finish.

Improved ABS formulation offering increased impact resistance, elongation strength and less corner edge warping.

UV stability and high chemical resistance, the preferred material for outdoor applications.

ASA has good mechanical properties, similar to ABS, with improved UV performance and chemical resistance. Commonly used for outdoor applications.

PETG

Improved mechanical and thermal properties compared to PLA.

PETG offers improved mechanical properties over PLA and excellent chemical and moisture resistance.

TPU/TPE

Rubbery and stretchy material, ideal for tubes, grips, seals, gaskets and protective applications.

TPU is a rubber-like, semi-flexible elastomer with shore hardness 60A that can bend and compress. Lacks the performance of true rubber.

NinjaFlex flexible filament leads the industry thanks to its superior flexibility and longevity compared to non-polyurethane materials.

Made from a specially formulated thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material, the result is uniquely flexible, strong parts.

PLA

High stiffness, good detail, affordable.

PLA is used for low-cost, non-functional rapid prototyping. It Offers greater detail than ABS but is more brittle. Unsuitable for high-temperature applications.

Woodfill PLA contains wood particles such as bamboo, or cork-based composite material, resulting in parts with a unique wood-like appearance.

Metalfill PLA contains steel, copper, bronze or other metal particles that give parts a metallic surface finish that can be polished to give a shiny surface finish.

Nylon

Used as a substitute for functional injection moulded parts, good chemical resistance. Ideal for functional high-wear applications.

Nylon offers superior mechanical properties than ABS and high chemical and abrasion resistance. Used for functional parts requiring high fatigue strength.

Carbon fibre Nylon has excellent stiffness and good temperature resistance.

Special Materials

Engineering plastics, high-performance applications.

ULTEM is an engineering grade plastic with good mechanical properties and exceptional heat, chemical and flame resistance. Suitable for top-end applications.

Overview

SLA is most suitable for visual applications where an injection mould, smooth surface finish, and very high level of feature detail is needed.
Ideal for intricate models possessing high levels of detail.

Defined features & high detail, Smooth, injection mould surface finish.

Support marks may be visible on surface, Brittle, not recommended for functional parts.

Materials available

High Detail Resins

Standard resin is a high-detail resin that produces parts with a smooth, injection mould-like surface finish. It is brittle and used for non-functional parts.

Clear resin has a semi-transparent appearance but can be post-processed to a smooth and almost fully optically clear finish.

Overview

SLS is used for both prototyping and medium-batch production of functional plastic parts with mechanical properties.


Excellent mechanical properties, Can produce complex geometries.

Higher cost than FDM and SLA, Longer lead times than FDM.

Materials available

Nylon

Standard Nylon – PA 12 – has all-around great mechanical properties and chemical resistance and is ideal for functional parts and prototypes.

Nylon 11 – PA 11 – has higher impact resistance and is more flexible than standard Nylon (PA 12), but has less hardness.

Carbon-filled Nylon contains carbon fibre or graphite particles that give parts high stiffness and improved thermal properties over standard Nylon and Nylon 11.

Precision metal or plastic parts. From ABS machined parts to Stainless Steel, create strong and durable parts for your needs.
